Why Natural Horsemanship?
Horses are our friends and our equals. We should not teach them through fear, instead we should learn to listen to the horse as another well-being and communicate with them.
Natural Horsemanship is the relationship which horsemen and their horses hold a valued bond where the human speaks the horses’ language and adapts it into the work they want to accomplish. The greatest treasure is when the horse as a prey animal can trust their owner. If the trust is strong enough, your horse will follow you through frightening situations like water, you become their reliant, protective herd leader. Horses try hard to please us, they are very forgiving, so in return we should reward them whether it’s with treats or the release.
People have slowly become more dull to the uniqueness of the human-horse partnership, now there are more competitive show people who solely focus on reaching great levels rather than their horse’s personal health and the connection. Horses are being run down hard when they are young and their longevity of their lives are shortened due to problems that are corrupted.
Natural Horsemanship does not limit the successes that are possible in even the competitive world, it is just a means of doing so while allowing the horse to remain a horse. We want that kind of bond where your horse walks over to you when you appear with a halter and who doesn’t bolt off when you release them.
My Goal For You
I want you to build to a spot where you are able to maintain pure lightness and have a sensitive horse regardless of what your main focuses are. To have an undeniably balanced seat and have a strong foundation of basics in riding as well as groundwork.
